Couple weeks ago (May 4th), he took Friday off from work & surprised me with a limo ride to the wineries in Los Gatos, CA. We stopped by Mr. Pickles for their yummy sandwiches & had a lunch picnic at Savannah Chanelle (first winery) before we did the wine-tasting.

We visited 4 wineries: Savannah Chanelle, Byington, David Bruce & Testa Rossa.

We were kinda 'drunk' & happy on the way back home. I'm glad neither of us had to drive. Thanks to Steve, our courteous chauffeur.

Another thing I'm excited about is... soon I & my (only) sister who lives on the other side of the globe will be able to FaceTime. She's been surviving without Internet, but now she finally gives in to getting an iPad. My niece got to play with my iPad & she loves it, now she wants her own. I convince my sister to wait for iPad 3, hopefully it'll be out end of this year or early 2012.

Steven Paul Jobs was born in San Francisco on February 24th, 1955 & died peacefully on October 5th, 2011 in Palo Alto, CA. He had been battling with pancreatic cancer since mid-2004.

Former Apple CEO Steve Jobs has died today. Media outlets are reporting that Apple announced the 56-year-old tech guru died peacefully today surrounded by his family.

Jobs died a day after Apple released  the iPhone 4s and nearly two months after he resigned as CEO of the company.

Apple's Board of Directors released the following statement:

"We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today. Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations thatenrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve. His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts."
Jobs survived pancreatic cancer and then in January went back on medical leave for unknown reasons. He was reportedly seen coming out of Stanford Cancer Center in February looking "gaunt."

Jobs' valuable life lessons:

1. Connecting the dots: You can't connect the dots looking forward. You can only connect them looking backwards. You have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. Believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.

2. Love & lost: Love what you do. If you fail, start over. The heaviness of being successful is replaced by the lightness of  being a beginner again. Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick, don't lose faith. You've got to find what you love. That is as true for your work as it's for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life & the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking & don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And like any great relationship, it just gets better & better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle.

3. Death: "If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right." Remembering that we all be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.

No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.

Steve is gone, but he will never be forgotten...

On Friday afternoon (14:46 JST), March 11th 2011 a 9.0-magnitude megathrust earthquake hit off the east coast of Japan (Tōhoku Chihō Taiheiyō-oki Jishin). The quake triggered a 23.6 m (77 ft) tsunami, killing thousands, sweeping away cars, homes, buildings, and boats. This was the fifth largest earthquake ever recorded. Aftershocks were recorded at 6.0. Three nuclear reactors from Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant suffered explosions and are leaking radiation. The death toll has reached 9,800 and an estimated 17,500 people are missing. The entire country is devastated. Japan is facing its worst crisis since the end of WW-II. The massive catastrophe has not only caused heavy casualties and severe damage, but also disrupted its economy. The earthquake moved Honshu 2.4 m (7.9 ft) east and shifted the Earth on its axis by almost 10 cm (3.9 inches).

My latest addiction is collecting these foodie plushies. Who won't love anything cute, cuddly & yummy, but won't add calories to your diet? The brown & pink giant 24" donuts + stack of pancakes are from Kidrobot x Heidi Kenney YUMMY collection. Maybe I should get the giant pizza too! Mr. Toast & Miss Custard (or tofu?) are from MiNi-Q. Mmm... wish they made cupcake plush.

Love this unique Par Avion collection by Kate Spade. It is from Fall 2008.
I have the Nikolette envelope, wish I had bought the Shopper tote as well to match.
The clear cosmetic case is TSA approved, which means you can put it in your handcarry & it is safer than those Ziploc bags (no spills!).
Kate Spade should make them their classic pieces, so they are available to purchase all the time.
Oh well, next time... don't think twice. You want it, get it! ;)
